Food & Wine Experiences in Menorca

Menorca’s own produce is the point of these offers. Several are cheese farm visits, from a guided look at a dairy to a workshop where you make cheese and taste the local products. Others are a family winery in Ciutadella, an olive oil tasting and a tasting built around croquettes. Most last between one and two hours.

Good to know: These are short stops on a land day, not full meals, so plan lunch separately. The farms are in the countryside, which usually means a car or a transfer from the coast. Ask whether the tasting is included in the price.

Frequently asked questions

Where do Menorca boat trips depart?

Not from one harbour. The listings show departures from Cala’n Bosc, Cala Galdana, Cala en Porter, Fornells and Mahón. Mahón and Ciutadella are about 45 km apart, so look at the meeting point before comparing prices and ask yourself how you will get there.

Can I reach the south-coast coves without a car?

A boat is one way, and it avoids the walk down and the car park. By land, access to some of the best-known coves is restricted in summer: for Macarella, private cars have been kept out in high season and a booked shuttle bus runs instead. The rules change from year to year, so check the current ones before you plan around a car.

Will wind or rough sea cancel a trip?

It can. The north coast takes the tramontana, a strong north wind that is most frequent in winter and early spring, while the south coast lies in its shelter. Operators cancel when the sea is unsafe. The booking page states the cancellation and refund terms for each offer, so read them and keep a spare day.

Do I need a diving certificate?

Not for a baptism dive or an intro dive for beginners, which are built for people who have never dived. Single and double dives say plainly that a certification is required. Guided snorkel tours need none. The booking page is the only reliable source for each offer.

How long is the Camí de Cavalls, and can I walk part of it?

The Camí de Cavalls, waymarked GR 223, circles the island for about 185 km and is usually walked in around twenty stages of roughly ten kilometres. You do not have to do it all: several offers here are guided stretches, for example between Ciutadella and Cala Galdana, and one is a two-day walk.

What does Menorca not have?

A large offer. We list about seventy tours and experiences, far fewer than on bigger islands, and several have only a handful of reviews. There is no single icon on the scale of one famous cave or cliff, and the nightlife offer here is thin. What the island has is coves, a clear sea and the Camí de Cavalls, and the listings are built around exactly that.
